About the Geophysics Department

History

Geophysics is one of the branches of knowledge in the sciences, which is concerned with the studies of the subsurface using the physical properties and parameters of the materials that make up the geological units of natural origin or man-made. The science of geophysics has been extended to include different branches of direct and indirect geophysical applications by taking various physical measurements on the surface of the earth or in the depths of land and oceans or from the air. This specialization of earth sciences is important in the detection of natural resources and in the engineering, environmental and security fields and their risks.

  1. Bachelor's degree in Geophysics.
  2. Master's degree (with courses and thesis) in Geophysics.
  3. Master's degree (with courses and research project) in Geophysics.
  4. PhD degree in engineering geology and environmental geology.
